Carrick
If he gets the sack from ManU ; a worthwhile squad player if we're in Europe?

Re: Carrick
He still can pick a pass, might be worth signing as long as he doesn't want silly money.

The thickest man in football, if not the world

Re: Carrick
Frustrating individual Carrick.
One of the best passers of a football..but he lacked character to have been great

Re: Carrick
If Bilic wanted to play him as part of a back 5 (ie, as sweeper) with wingbacks then I think he would be a worthwhile addition... good option from the bench to change a game if price is right.

As said, good European experience as well.

Re: Carrick
I was watching him today, he didnt do much apart from helping to break up attacks, providing an outlet from defence, playing positive balls forward.
He might not be the brightest bulb around the Christmas Tree, but he cant half read a game of football.

Re: Carrick
Would have him back in a heartbeat.

ticks all the boxes.
Great passer..good in possession..( something we need improving).

Experience ..(top draw)

No brainer

He's not been bad, norman.

Ten years and 400+ games for Man Utd. Five PL medals, one FA Cup, one League Cup, one Champions League.....

Would be perfect for us next season..
A player who doesn't panic in possession.

If Obiang leaves he would be worth taking.

Re: Carrick
He's getting on, but he's maintaining a decent level off performance.

Could do a Nolan, and have that form fall off a cliff, though.

Just after signing for us...

While we at it. Why not bring back Defoe, Cole.(Both of them.) Johnson. And Fat Frank.!

Then the Druids can have a proper wankfest.

Nothing to do with being an ex player..

Re: Carrick
Oh dear. Some of you really don't know much about football do you. Carrick should be one of our prime targets. He's a proper holding midfielder and he stays put and knows how to pass the ball. He's exactly what you need if you play a game that hits teams on the break.

Our main weakness this season was not having someone like him who is always where he should be. Noble had his best season precisely because he was allowed to push forward. He's a box to box player not a CDM. And kouyate the same. He's a ball carrier not a passer. And too often they were both caught in front of the ball.

Carricks a no brainer
